Canton Silver Needle

Plump young buds of white tea, carefully hand-picked in Yunnan province.
These delicate silver buds infuse into a light, champagne coloured liquor with creamy, sweet notes of honeydew melon and cucumber. Infuse at least once to enjoy all of the soft, lingering flavours.

“The soft, fruity notes and velvety mouthfeel of this white tea make it uplifting, supremely satisfying and totally indulgent.”

Delicious!

My first experience of 'white tea', and I love it! Even my husband (a 'strong, Assam' kind of person) has taken to it like a duck to water. He didn't detect the cucumber-iness that some reviewers describe; would have run a mile if he had! I've been drinking it on holiday and now can't face ordinary tea with milk. I'm converted - now to try more white and green teas!

Fantastic Tea and great value

I had tried white teas two or three times and had been unimpressed so left them alone, preferring green, black, and oolong teas. Until I received a sample of White Peony tea from the Canton Tea Club and found it was - delicious and quite unlike what I was expecting. So I decided to buy some and it has now become one of my favourite teas, alongside Dragon Well, Tie Guan Yin and a few others. This tea is superb, with quite different qualities to green and black teas, or indeed oolongs. At only £5.50 for 50g it is great value, compared to many other teas out there. Thank you Canton for introducing me to this! .... Maybe I should try Silver Needle tea now?...

Great alternative everyday tea compared to the more expensive whites

Wonderfully refreshing tea

This tea has a lovely cucumber crispness. I actually didn't know what i was looking for in an everyday-drinking-tea until i tasted this. It is the perfect morning drink, but i also love this most throughout the day at the office. I find it keeps me alert, refreshed and hydrated; and this being something which heavily caffeinated drinks just cannot match up to.

A beautiful sweet flavoured and fragrant tea which is robust without a hint of biytterness and retains it's character through subsequent infusions. One of my favourites now.

Definitely One of the Best

I love peony tea and was curious to see how this attractively priced option from Canton tastes. I wasn't disappointed. This is easily one of the best Peony's you can get and it would be very hard to choose in a blind test between this and others at double the cost from other tea merchants. Fragrant and with a great taste I'd highly recommend this variety to all!

Definitely one of the very best Bai Mu Dan teas I’ve yet to taste

"The tea these beautiful, whole leaves produces is exquisite! Definitely one of the very best Bai Mu Dan teas I’ve yet to taste. It is surprisingly rich and flavorful. Many White Peony/Bai Mu Dan teas that I’ve tried in the past tend to be somewhat pale in flavor – delicate – but, this is not a typical Bai Mu Dan!"

Delicious

Hi - I'm new to china teas. Having been advised to stay off caffeine by a doctor, I went from drinking assam leaf tea to tasteless decaf tea bags. At least it came in a cup and looked similar! However, I came across white peony tea on a menu when I was out for a meal and tried it. It's delicious. Light, refreshing and slightly sweet and incredibly calming and comforting. I feel no caffeine kick from it and I use the leaves for all my cups of tea during the day by re-infusing them. I'm completely converted.
I would highly recommend both this tea and Canton teas - their customer service is great.
Thank you for helping enjoy tea drinking again!

Another fine Canton tea!

I continue to be impressed by the Canton Tea Company teas. As a category, white teas are not my first choice. I have found most white teas to be either too musty or too bland for my taste.

I ordered quite a few sample packets from Canton Tea Company to try. I saved this white tea for last because I was pretty sure that it would be just another white tea. Well, I was quite surprised by this White Peony Bai Mu Dan. It is sweet and mellow, without being musty. It is much more interesting than most other whites I have tasted because it has a number of flavor notes which change with the cooling of the tea. It also has a nice lingering sweetness that I have not experienced with other white teas.

Next, I look forward to sampling the Canton Tea Ye Sheng Wild White Tea, but I highly recommend this White Peony tea to anyone wishing to explore the different kinds of teas.Be sure to brew this tea at a lower temperature than most other teas: recommended by Canton Tea at 75C/167F for 2-3 minutes.

Devastating Flavor

Canton Tea Company's white peony tea is unbelievably good. It is a extremely robust and flavorful tea, the likes of which you would not readily expect . The flavor is extremely floral, as you can actually taste the bouquet throughout the sip. It ends with an extremely sweet aftertaste that is ridiculously pleasant . When left to cool , the tea actually acquires a much more mellow and sweet flavor as it begins to lose warmth. Paired with your favorite sweetener it makes a satisfying and completely different iced tea experience. Whether you enjoy white peony hot or cold it will more then reward you with cup after cup of awesomeness. From a 10 g sample I was able to extract two full pitchers worth of iced tea, and this lovely tea even even held up to three full infusions before waning. Adamantly recommended.

An explosion of flavour

"On the palate, the tea is an explosion of flavor: The sweetness remains, along with the sage/green bell pepper notes, with a surprising apricot finish. This is one white tea that actually gets better with multiple infusions, with the fruit notes becoming more prominent."

Cheaper means great value not less taste

I have always been one of those people that thinks if it costs more it means it's better, after all, you get what you pay for don't you? So when it comes to buying white tea I have always bought Fuding Bai Hao Yin Zhen, which is beautiful. Well, I thought I'd give this one a try, after all, I was curious to see why it had won an award. I am so glad that I did. It has a beautiful clear colour and a sweet taste. I love to brew this tea pour it and just hold the liquor in my mouth for a few seconds to fully taste all the components that make up the flavour of this beautiful tea.

A fine, high grade white tea made up of young, soft buds protected by a coat of silver down. The tea is carefully picked by hand in Guangnan, Yunnan province. White tea undergoes very little processing- the buds are picked at dawn and simply allowed to wither gently in the sun. When brewed, the leaves release soft notes of sweet melon and cucumber that linger on the palate. The soft fruit notes of this tea lend themselves well to cold brewing which draws out a more intense sweetness for an uplifting infusion.
