Canton Tea Club Week 12
Quite an assortment of high grade ingredients in your Tea Box this week. They include:
Organic Assam Black Tea
Cinnamon or Ginger
Make your own Christmas Tea
This is the opportunity to be a little creative, explore some interesting flavour combinations and make your own Christmas Blend. It can be fun – ask Ali (see last week’s blog.) We reckon even if you have highly sophisticated taste in tea, you’ll be surprised when you add a dash of this and sprinkle of that – just how good it can taste. Keep it subtle to start with. Take the cocoa nibs – nibble a few in their raw state and you’ll get a sense of the base, dark chocolate notes they’ll add – and the liquorice always gives a softer, sweeter flavor.
Of course if you’re not prepared to adulterate a good Assam with this exotica, we suggest you indulge some less tea-savvy folk instead this Christmas. Create a hand-blended Signature Tea for someone who will appreciate the gesture – your mother, your children?
And if none of that appeals, save it till New Year’s Eve, boil up the lot with some red wine and a dash of brandy to kick off a good party.
Here are some of our own sweet recipes to get you going:
THE BOUNTY BAR
Less sweet, more grown-up but extremely moreish at teatime. Close your eyes and think of Paradise.
