Lotus Flower Tea Bowl

A handmade, fine white porcelain tea bowl, hand-painted with blue in the traditional style. The beautifully soft, free-flowing design of the Lotus Blossom has a loose contemporary feel but is very much derived from traditional Chinese art. The flower is predominantly on the inside but there are some wispy branches on the outside too.
The porcelain is delicate enough to see the shadow of your fingers through when you hold it, but is not fragile, so it still feels practical for careful everyday use. The shape is much more small bowl than tasting cup - rather more shallow - wide and open, what's known as a summer shape. The capacity is smaller than an English tea cup and larger than a small tasting cup - just right for savouring a fine Chinese tea.

Being a handmade, hand-painted piece, each one has minute differences. They are all completely perfect.
