Other names: Yunnan Red, Yunnan BlackTaking its name from the old name for Yunnan Province, Dian (Yunnan) Hong (Black) is a relatively new tea (around 100 yrs old) and though not well known outside China is very popular within. Widely used in the better blends of English Breakfast, it is said to be a favourite of Queen Elizabeth II.
The smooth, soft liquor has a hint of plum and some deliciously sweet, deep, elegant notes..
Brewed cool, it makes a wonderful iced tea.
