1999 Yi Wu Cooked Brick
- Product Review (submitted on July 16, 2010):
- I didn't really know much about Purreh Tea's when I ordered this sample but I thought I quite fancied trying it, a tea for £98 does make you curious as to what magic liquor it will produce to make people pay that kind of price. My goodness did I have a pleasant surprise. It was the first sample of the many I ordered I dug out to try. It was a beautiful colour red liquor that I poured into my cup with a very beautiful aroma, that in itself was enough to excite the tastebuds. My first eagerly awaited mouthful was instant relaxation in a cup. The warm earthy woody deep flavour instantly brought images of glowing fires and embers, I felt all the cares and thoughts of the stressful day at work just melt away as I was transported to another world. I can't say I have ever experienced anything like it, or even expected a mere tea to have such a profound effect. I didn't want to ever stop drinking. It felt like home, like nature. Later that night I went to a family party and all I could think about was my tea waiting for me back at home. I even left the party early and the closer I got to home the more excited I felt. It was such relief to once again taste that beautiful tea! Unfortunately the sample soon ran out and I was left with that yearning once again thinking, I'm going to have to work blooming hard this month so I can get that tea again, thank God for credit cards!!! So if you are like me, sitting thinking "WTF tea for £100 what kind of gold dust tea is that? What kind of fool pays £100 for a cup of tea?" that kind of fool is going to be you once you try it, and after you have you will pay any price for that experience!
