2004 CNNP Ji Xing Yi Wu Raw Beeng Cha
- Product Review (submitted on October 14, 2011):
- A very superior raw beeng cha. Well,of course it should be, at this price. The taste comes up very quickly, good woody smoke, phenolic overtones, peaty. There are walnuts, raw, just out of their casings. There are figs too, and acorns. More infusions give smoky bacon, mellowing out to beech-blossom honey. There is a tannic over-taste, with underlying variations of of late-autumn berries and nuts that roll out at subsequent infusions. Think of squirrels, red squirrels, scampering along the branches! A very mellow-tone tea, expensive, but worth the investment of long-term enjoyment and satisfaction.
