Gunpowder (Organic)
Gunpowder Green Tea (Organic)
This is a much better grade than most Gunpowder Tea available in the UK. It is made from organic young, quality leaves, rolled into small balls and was named by the British after the gun powder pellets used in their cannons. Called Zhu Cha in China, it is a variety of green tea from Zhejiang Province which has been produced for well over a thousand years - since the Tang Dynasty. The tea liquor has a hint of sweetness with an aftertaste that is smooth and dry. A refreshing afternoon tea.

It is fresh and light, without any bitterness and "smoked fish" taste characteristic for cheap/low quality gunpowders. I drink it almost every day in my office! Great, really great price performance as well. (Posted on 7/17/12)

Amazing - just great for mint tea!

I bought this to replace an inferior product I had been using from a Chinese store. As always Canton Tea surpass themselves again. A great tea, brilliant taste and just perfect for mint tea. Entertained some Moroccan friends and served them this - they loved it. (Posted on 1/11/12)

It really is 'Superior'

I am happy to report that the 'superior' in this tea's name is well-deserved. This is certainly one of the best Gunpowder teas I have sampled- there is no trace of a smoky or ashy flavor that I have found to be the downfall of gunpowders gone bad...

Very nice Gunpowder

This is so fresh. Most gunpowder teas I have tried have been quite dark and taste has been like straw. Not this one, this is very green and tastes so fresh. (Posted on 9/11/11)
