Dan Cong (pronounced Dansong) is known as the champagne of Oolong teas. Also known as Shui Xian or Phoenix Honey Orchid, Dan Congs are intensely flavourful tea produced only in a small area around Chao Zhou, Guangdong. The teas are grown from a single-stemmed varietal of tea bush, which produces large, striped leaves that produce a red-gold liquor with wonderfully complex fruity and floral aromas and flavours. Good Dan Congs are hard to find as much of the best quality is bought by Chinese tea lovers. We located some
