Jasmine Pearls
Jasmine Pearls Green Tea | Jasmine Dragon Pearls
Our handmade Jasmine Pearls have an astonishing record having won top gold awards every year they have been entered in the Guild of Fine Food Great Taste Awards. This is one of the few authentic Jasmine teas available in the UK and was made by our own supplier. At the Great Taste Awards it was independently blind-tasted by a series of panels - comprising passionate foodies, food industry heavy-weights and well-known restaurateurs - and was judged to be the best.
The long green tea buds are hand-picked from the young green tea plants and are heated soon after picking to arrest oxidation of the leaves. They are then carefully stored for several weeks until the Jasmine flowers blossom. The tea buds are very skilfully hand rolled into perfect spheres and layered over several nights with the fresh Jasmine blossoms. Just a few pearls yield a highly fragrant liquor, bright with refreshing jasmine and sweet with the soft creamy undertones of the tea buds.
Many so-called Jasmine teas are artificially scented with a synthetic fragrance. Ours are completely natural and capture the delicacy of the Jasmine flower without overwhelming the sweet, creamy softness of the tea.
Great Taste Awards 2009: Three Gold Stars and Great Taste Awards 2010: Two Gold Stars.

I am extremely fond of well-made jasmine tea and I have enjoyed some truly lovely specimens over the past few months. I must say, however, that Canton Tea Co’s Jasmine Pearls is simply the best jasmine tea that I have ever tried
I love everything about this product, from its quality to the packaging and I would highly recommend trying it out.

Canton Tea Co has just sent me a nice box containing Jasmine Pearls. Thank you. Inside is also your lovely booklet entitled Fine Tea.Rating
I just wanted to say how much I have enjoyed the booklet and jasmine pearl tea. It is beautifully presented and printed, a great find. Nice picture of the Taeping clipper too. For what it is worth I prefer jasmine pearls to the classic Long Jing and to Silver Needle but that is of course a matter of taste.
In the Shangri La Hotel Shanghai in a superior way I asked for their best green tea. Long Jing appeared in a tiny cup; and it cost a fortune, 60 Yuan. Cheaper from the Canton Tea Co.
(Posted on 4/24/12) - it's obvious why this is a world-class, award-winning tea. It's exquisite. Review by Katie @ Teaviews.com

"The tea is unbelievably smooth. Unsurprisingly, it has none of the bitterness that comes with cheap jasmine flavoured teas. It's creamy, milky, and gentle with a surprising very subtle smoky undertone. The smokiness comes out more with later steeps, but even then, the tea remains smooth. The creamy base tea pairs beautifully with the floral jasmine. It's a very delicate tea, so on the surface, it seems simple, but once you start looking, you notice all the subtle complexities" Read the full review here: http://www.teaviews.com/2012/01/27/review-canton-tea-co-jasmine-pearl-tea-6/ (Posted on 1/30/12)Rating - Amazing - best value for money anywhere! So having lived in Hong Kong I used to have something similar shipped over. Having found Canton tea there is no need for that anymore. These pearls are amazing. YOu may be wondering if you should spend the money but trust me it is worth it. They go a long way, can be re infused and best of all the flavour is amazing, delicate and just perfect! Nothing artificial just pure, gorgeous tea! (Posted on 1/11/12)Rating - aromatic but not overpowering Review by Trish

I'm one of those people who tried a (probably cheap!) jasmine tea years ago and couldn't fathom out why anyone would drink "perfume".Rating
Along came my sample pack from Canton Tea so I thought I'd try it out. What a difference! It's not an overpowering tea at all - it's scented and delicate and an incredibly relaxing tea. It's my new favourite (and I have many!). I would highly recommend this to anyone a bit cautious about jasmine tea. And there is the added bonus of watching the lovely pearls unravel in your cup! "The flavor is so soft and creamy. Not a buttery kind of creamy taste (although every once in a while, I could swear I taste a buttery note). Instead it’s a smooth, rich kind of creamy taste. The green tea/white tea tastes so fresh and even though it is a lighter tasting tea, it has a richness to it that ties in to that creaminess I mentioned."Rating

Refined, balanced, persistent without being overdone. The aroma is intoxicating, but with elegance and naturalness; the flavour is sweet and complex throughout many infusions. The best jasmine pearls I've tried so far. (Posted on 6/29/11)Rating - Superlative Jasmine Review by Z

Wow. I was totally blown away by this tea. From the moment you open the foil bag, the rich jasmine scent pervades throughout the tea. But this alone does not define this tea. What defines this tea is a superb balance achieved through the blending of a rich and flavorful green tea and beautiful floral notes of jasmine that work harmoniously with one another and simply tastes amazing. Truly this tea excels in its iced form, I simply could not stop drinking this tea. A decadent fragranced iced tea that was soothing and refreshing simultaneously. One thing I truly appreciated about this tea was that the jasmine was not overpowering. My girlfriend, a new tea drinker, was readily able to distinguish the gentleness of the jasmine and how it lent to creating a more flavorful tea, as opposed to being overpowering. We had tried jasmine pearl blends from other companies, and it was evident that they all employed Jasmine oil to over fragrance their tea. Instead of something that tastes of jasmine all you could taste was the Jasmine. In Whatever form you choose to enjoy this tea, you will certainly be rewarded with one of the best flavors without exception. I love this tea. Beyond endorsed. This tea is wonderful and perfect. The jasmine flavour is both pure and delicate. The mouthfeel is silky. Drinking this tea seems to transport me somewhere else... (Posted on 2/13/11)Rating - Awesome!!! Review by Jamie

Finally, after spending nearly £50 on so-called "Jasmine Dragon Balls", "Jasmine Flavoured Tea" and other teas masquerading as the real thing I found a company who obviously knows what they are talking about. The second you open the bag the heady aroma of Jasmine fills your nostrils and the taste and balance of the tea to Jasmine ratio is just spot on. Please, please, please, if you like Jasmine tea then dont waste your money on inferior products when this is quite possibly the best on the market. "If a flower could be described as being delicious, this would be the epitome of such a description. The amount of jasmine is enough to lend great character to the tea, while not completely dominating it."Rating

"The only word that I can find to describe this tea is lovely. It was perfectly balanced between the sweetness of the jasmine and the white tea. It was not perfumy as some jasmine teas can be and there was very little astringency."Rating

I believe many (if not all) of the Jasmine teas I've had over the course of my 30 some odd years, have been flavored with oils or who knows what. This tea is clearly not. It is just absolutely delicious. (Posted on 9/29/10)Rating - Delicate and genuine jasmine Review by Jim R

This is truly one of the most delicate and genuine jasmines i have tasted ever i've tasted plenty (nearly 2 decades in China!). It has a subtle, insinuating sweetness, that unlike so many jasmines found in the west is not overpowering or artificial. I really enjoy it first thing in the morning, it's got to be one of the nicest ways to digest dreams and slip into the day! Thank you Canton Tea, looking forward to the Oolongs!Rating
Fantastic Tea!!! (Posted on 7/1/10) - The silver needle is high grade and you can tell that it was harvested at just the right time. Review by Jamie
-
My favorite type of tea (thus far) is white tea, more specifically, silver needle, so I was crazy excited to try this one. The only thing that made me hesitate was the fact that it was jasmine flavored. I like the smell of Jasmine but I don’t like teas that taste like perfume. other Jasmine teas made me feel like I was back in the elevator with that lady who was wearing cheap jasmine perfume (ended up having the taste from it in my mouth all day).Rating
So I sat down and brewed this tea, anticipating that funky taste. As soon as I opened the package, I could tell that this Jasmine was different. The pearls are really pretty and the tea smells like a dream. Steeped it for five minutes, though they recommend only a few, watched the pearls come to life and unravel in my cup. The color was really light as you’d expect from a silver needle. The smell was very calming, soothing and not even slightly artificial. Yes, I was pleasantly surprised – made me feel like I was in a spa. The silver needle is high grade and you can tell that it was harvested at just the right time. The Jasmine scent was infused naturally which explains why I was spared the aftertaste. Steeped it three times and it did really well. The scent was milder by the third brew but the silver needle carried it through perfectly.

These pearls are absolutely gorgeous, and are filled with the intoxicating aroma of Jasmine. The taste has a sweet finish, leaving the Jasmine flower smell in the aroma and the Jasmine sweetness in the liquor. I really enjoyed this tea, and imagine that it would be amazing iced! I have tried a number of Jasmine Teas, they often taste enhanced by oils or flavours. The Canton Tea Co. tea is unrivalled in comparison, fresh, crisp and an amazing jasmine flavour that runs through but without overpowering - perfect. The best tea I have tasted. (Posted on 5/4/10)Rating
