Dragon Well (Long Jing) Green Tea
Dragon Well Green Tea (Shi Feng Long Jing)
Other names: Dragonwell Tea, Dragon Well Tea, Lung Ching Tea, Longjing
Canton Tea Co’s Long Jing always scoops Gold in the Guild of Fine Food Great Taste Awards.
Long Jing is one of China’s most famous and best-loved green teas. This year is a great season rewarding us with a classic lively premium green tea made from the first flush of the spring leaves, picked young and skilfully pressed flat in a hot, dry wok to arrest oxidation. The bright green liquor has sweet notes of fresh cut grass rounded off by a soft, chestnut flavour.
Our Buyer’s notes“This superb Long Jing is grown by a top Long Jing farmer with over 50 years experience. We have been working with them for four years after a personal recommendation from our Tea Master.”Great Taste Awards 2009/10 – Two Stars.

Lovely tea Review by Robin

I was first introduced to this tea at a tea estate in Hangzhou in China and thought it was wonderful. Back in England I tried to find the same tea and although I tried lots and lots of teas that described themselves as Dragon Well they were pale imitations at best. The tea from the Canton Tea Co though is as good, if not better than the tea I came across in China. It has a lovely fragrance and great taste and I can't drink enough of it. (Posted on 8/4/10)

A wonderfully fresh green tea. Review by Charlotte

A little bit of spring in a cup. Tastes exactly as described - sweet freshly cut grass. This is one of my absolute favourites from Canton Tea. I could drink it every day. (Posted on 7/8/10)

Great Tea Review by Mrs H Robyn

Great Tea. Refined and smooth with gentle tanine notes. Purists would probably disagree, but try it cold with mint and a little sugar!
Me and my husband have become obssesed with 'real teas' . We used to get rather excited by and drink plenty of (really great) coffee, but then the lack of sleep and a constant barrage of criticism from our yoga teacher has turned us onto th real tea scene! While i do like the delicacy of the white teas, the greens, and especially this Long Jing are really special. It is a hearty and satisfying tea and we find it really great after a long meal and also excellent the morning after to much wine! (Posted on 7/1/10)
