Canton Single Mountain Puerh: De Hong Ye Sheng 2012
This is an exceptional raw Puerh cake made from a native varietal of a wild Puerh tree that has dark purple leaves. This 野生茶 (Wild Tea) is naturally dark in color and the quality of the leaves and the skilled processing ensures it has excellent aging potential. The infused liquor is bright and floral with hardly any astringency. It has a smooth, robust taste and a full mouthfeel.
Ye Sheng "野生“ varietal aka 'Camellia sinensis (L.) Kuntze var. assamica (J. Masters) Kitam' is a primeval varietal that pre-dates Camellia Sinensis var. Assamica and is a native, non hybrid varietal.
