Canton Chai (Organic)
Canton Chai (Organic)
This hand-blended Chai will dance on your tongue and deliver a sensational warming kick. This is our own house blend of Organic Assam and a delicious mix of fresh, aromatic organic herbs and spices.
The blend includes Assam with green cardamon, cassia bark, ginger, orange peel, cloves, and green pepper corns. It has been finely tuned to create a perfect balance of spiced tea. Add a little milk and sweeten with sugar or honey if desired for a deeply comforting and astonishingly moreish brew.

great tea!

This is my very first tea from canton tea company so the expectations are pretty high!
When i open the package my nose is getting happy with the good spicy smells coming out off the ziplock bag. The spices are very large pieces and thats great to view, never had pieces off spice that where so large like in this blend. The base off this cha is assam, witch i like because i like full body assam tea's!
So after all this i'm getting ready to brew this in my small gong fu teapot. One teaspoon off chai is going in for 3min with boiling water! In total i'm going to make 2 cups from these leaves like i usually do with black tea's.
The color off the brew turns out to be a very dark golden brown, it looks and smells good just like the dry leaves used to be. I'm not going to use milk or honey like recommended on the package. So after cooling down a bit i'm finally going to taste it.
On my first sip i can really notice the little balls off green pepper that are in the blend. If i'm correct this blend is lacking cinnamon its a bit weird for me because my last blends used to be cinnamon heavy. The assam is giving this blend a remarkable strong background for the pepper and all the other spices!

Just delicious! Really lovely blend of spices that make for an easy chai tea. Naturally sweet tasting and calming. A million times better than any supermarket tea bag chai tea. Very worth a try! (Posted on 1/11/13)

Packed for freshness, this tea surpasses any other herbal type tea I've tried in the supermarkets. I now have tea-shop quality tea at home. It's a nice alternative to coffee in the evening. I find it calming and soothing. (Posted on 1/4/13)

Fantastic blend

We retail this blend in our shop and feedback from customers has been superb. Needs to brew 3-4 minutes and best with warm steamed milk, which may not be easily achieved at home. We generally avoid sugar but the chai improves with addition of a little, to taste of course. best chai we've found and much easier than blending our own, which is what we used to do. Spicy, warming tea, with well-being properties.

I adore this tea. It has a real kick & bite to it, but at the same time is soothing & warming.
Contains ginger, whole black peppers , cardammon, cinnamon & all the healthy warming spices, most of which have 'medicinal' properties. Ginger lowers blood pressure, Black Pepper helps circulatory problems & both ginger & cinnamon are good for digestive problems.
It has a gentle sweetness & yet a real bite from the spices used & is wonderfully soothing all year round & at any time of the day.
I would describe this tea as 'hugs in a teacup' ; in my opinion, it is the equivalent of a hot bath for the winter months. (Posted on 10/14/12)

outstanding Chai

"Very smooth and rich taste from the black tea leaves. Cinnamon and cardamom taste comes on tangy. Excellent chai experience through three brewings – perhaps that’s what Canton Teas meant when they called it an “astonishingly moreish brew.” I thought they meant you’d want more but now I’m thinking they were saying the tea would keep giving the drinker more and more, through successive brewings."

I love this tea for breakfast. Really wakes you up. Because the spices are whole you tend to get a slightly different mix and a slightly different aroma each time. A work of genius. (Posted on 5/30/12)

This is gorgeously spicy without losing the flavour of the tea. I hope it will be available all spring too! (Posted on 12/16/11)
