It really was a fantastic day: Charlotte, who will now spend the rest of her life spelling out her surname, looked gorgeous, the sun shone, the ceremony was moving, and the partying epic. Both families laid on a wonderful series of parties – from unbelievably good pizza (courtesy of Mark and Maria), to fabulous fresh produce from the magical Walled Garden, and a vast barbecue by this year’s UK BBQ champion. The guests included a classic mix of bright young things, jolly oldies, dangerous toddlers, and the odd ne’er-do-well.

At the centre of it all were Edgar and Charlotte, who provided the main ingredient for any great wedding by being manifestly, hopelessly in love. Tea was of course served to guests as they arrived – Li Shan Oolong and our poshest Darjeeling: Arya Diamond (very apt). Even the best men’s speeches were funny, sample joke: ‘Good to see Edgar’s got in shape for his wedding. Shame that shape is a circle!’.

Mr and Mrs Thoemmes are currently honeymooning in Indonesia. Edgar doing cold turkey from Google Analytics for a whole three weeks? It must be love.
