Margarets Hope Silver Moon Second Flush Darjeeling
Second Flush Darjeeling, Margarets Hope Silver Moon
We are delighted to include this as one of our first examples of top grade Indian tea. It is a magnificent high grown Darjeeling from Margaret’s Hope, a tea garden that’s known and loved the world over. The long twisty leaves are a delightful mix of chocolate and copper browns with an abundance of silvery tips. It produces a bright gold liquor with a malty aroma, a well rounded flavour and a sweet, fruity aftertaste. This fresh, brisk tea denotes a well-produced, high grade Darjeeling. We only have a few kilos and then there is no more available – anywhere.

Really disappointing Tea. Did I get the right packet? Review by david

I bought a small quantity of this tea a few months ago and i have never been so disappointed with a fine tea. I found the brew to be almost without any flavour. Compared to all the other wonderful Canton teas you have delivered to me, this was a washout and left me wondering whether i had received the correct packet on this occasion? (Posted on 12/16/11)

An interesting tea with a subtle smokiness that sets it apart from most other Darjeelings Review by Katie at Teaviews

This was a delightful tea and a pleasant surprise to my expectations. It's firmly in the 'would buy' category, as I believe are all the samples I have tried from Canton Tea Company.

Engaging complexity Review by Raven at teaviews.com

"Much like the new year to come, Canton Tea Company’s 2nd Flush Darjeeling has an air of mystery with its calico coloured leaves and engaging complexity. The sweet muscatel flavours with a enough toothsome toast would seem a wonderful way to cheers 2011 any time of day."

A lot of Darjeelings, regardless of flush, have a very brisk introduction in flavor, spice and grape dominating. This eased its way in. Review by Geoff

This is a second flush from Margaret’s Hope. I “think” I’ve had others from this Darjeeling Tea Estate, but I haven’t a clue. Some vendors don’t list origin. Anyway, this is a shy bit different than the usual second flush. The liquor is lighter, brewing to a vibrant gold rather than amber or red. And it’s lacking some of the requisite muscatel character. That said, it’s a floral cup with a feather-touch spice finish and still worth your valuable morning.

Smooth and easy drinking Review by Vanessa at Teaviews

"Crisp muscatel notes were followed by a fruity/citrus flavor that delivered an almost-bitter zing. The tea had a complex flavor, yet was aslo smooth and easy-drinking."
